Normally rate village hotels...... Certainly normally good value for money. This is by far the worst village i have attended. On check in was difficult as had a couple of rooms and trying to organize and pay breakfast and Parking on the self check in was a pain....... Asked staff for assistance they got us checked in eventually. Asked for time for breakfast he said I'm not sure..... Not much help should we just wake up at a random time and hope we can get breakfast? Asked for swimming pool times was told 12-4 was actually 08:00-12:00 so my daughter was very disappointed she couldn't swim. Food was poor. We had two nights booked and left after night 1. Not the best
Really lovely hotel and gym/swimming pool. Parking is £5 during the weekdays. You can also use the gym/swimming pool for £5 if you're staying in the hotel. Lift was out of use during stay. Rooms are spacious and clean/modern. Breakfast was good. You need to ask for non dairy milk. Staff were fantastic and couldn't help enough. Gym and swimming pool time is clear and alloted.
Stayed here for a business trip and enjoyed the experience. The reception staff were excellent and very helpful. Found the bed very comfortable and once I worked out how to use the shower it was perfect. The staff in general were very helpful, professional and helpful. In general a pleasant experience even if it was too short a stay.
Really nice place. Lovely modern room, huge tele. Excellent value for money. Just a few bits of rubbish left under the bed and cutlery looked used. When we arrived
This review was sent 3 or 4 times to village hotel, but they tend to ignore you. Dear Sirs, I am writing to make a formal complaint about our recent experience at Village Hotel Solihull. My confirmation number is 116037 and the booking is for three rooms for one night on 29th October 2023. My wife and I travelled from London to spend our first wedding anniversary in Birmingham with friends. We booked Village 1) We did not feel welcomed on arrival. The lady on the check in desk gave us our key cards and told us the check out time. We were not informed of any room upgrade options or facilities in the hotel. We saw the restaurant/pub downstairs but were disappointed to see it closed when we returned back to the hotel after our evening out which could have been avoided if we were told about this on check in. 2) The lift in the hotel was out of order and this was only discovered after we walked up to the lift and attempted to use it. We were then told by the hotel staff to use the stairs. The staff did not offer assistance to carry four heavy suitcases up the stairs or offer a hotel luggage trolley. One of our friends had to drag their suitcase up the stairs and ended up scratching it which she was very disappointed about. 3) All of the rooms were dusty. Dust was physically visible on the headboard and on the windowsills and some of us did not have a good night sleep because of this. 4) Two of the rooms (Room 122 and 220) has mattresses placed under the bed. Room 220 had a stack of three thin mattresses placed in the bed and these were stained yellow which brings in general cleaning and hygiene of the hotel into question. 5) A member of your team knocked on room 224 at 10am and entered the room with a keycard when the check our time is 11am. A do not disturb sign was not available in the room to hang outside the door. A wake-up call was not requested therefore there is no reason for your staff member to enter the rooms without permission and wake up the guests. The female guest in the room was woken up by the staff member and was furious and found it intrusive of her privacy. I was not expecting the above from Village Hotels considering the booking was made after a verbal recommendation and after also considering that Village is across the UK and not a budget hotel. I would like someone to contact me and explain why the above happened as well as discuss how Village will be compensating us for this negative experience on our special occasion. I look forward to your earliest response. Regards Vinik
