Never going to stay here again, unless it's the only option left! We went up to Loughborough for our daughter's graduation. About 4 hrs before arrival, I called the hotel to confirm that we indeed had 1 double room and 1 twin room. I was assured that was the case. Only for us to turn up and we were given 2 twin rooms. I complained but was told that housekeeping had closed for the night and nothing could be done. When I insisted, the poor young lady at reception was asked to go sort out the room. What she did was push the twin beds together. The a/c and heating in the room didn't work either. They put a stand-alone electric heater in the room for us. It was so very unprofessional. We also had to complain about the 2nd room. There was a very bad smell in it so we asked for a different room but was told there were no free rooms. So, they went and sprayed the room with air freshener. There was no heating in the 2nd room, not even a stand-alone electric heater as with the first room. We had arrived late and all we wanted was to get into bed and get a decent night's sleep. But we had to sit in the foyer whilst the rooms were fixed. It wasn't a pleasant experience at all. The only good thing about our stay was the breakfast where they had a good variety. And even with that one, they had an awkward time of 7:00-9:30am. Anyone who needs to get out by 7am would not have the chance to have breakfast. I do not recommend this hotel at all.
Great location for visiting Loughborough Uni. Good sized rooms with very comfy beds. Decent breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Good value for money.
The location is great. Nice and quiet place with a restaurant and pub near it. The service was great altought I had to ask several times for the invoice with my company name on it. The rooms are big and clean but some details in it could be improved. Also the sound coming from the corridor when someone is walking is pretty loud because of the wooden structure. The breakfast was good.
